01/23/09 WE'VE GOT PUPPIES!
Our Faridaat E Litter puppies have arrived! Eden whelped 7 beautiful pups on Friday, Jan. 23/09! This litter is the culmination of many years of planning fraught with many hurdles along the way and we couldn't be more elated with the result!
We chose a wonderful part desert bred dog as the sire of Eden's litter. Otis has a beautiful square solid build, excellent bone, and a lovely deep brisket and his whole self just screams athlete! He has a very gentle and endearing temperament, and one cannot fail to notice he's a darn handsome fella! I became interested in Otis after hearing how well his dam and siblings fared in the OFC arena in the USA. I knew I wanted some desert blood, but also the ability to ensure that the puppies could be registered. Since Otis is a gen 2 db descent, his third generation get can be registered with AKC and then CKC! In order to qualify for SPDBS/AKC registration (pre-requisites for CKC registration due to the gen 2 status of the sire) the litter must be born in the US to a US resident. In order to accomplish this we co-bred the litter with Warren & Vicky Cook (Santana) and whelped them in Oregon!
This litter combines Eden's Turkish db ancestry with Otis's Saudi Arabian db ancestry. I've had some saluki folks curious as to why we would breed these two strains/lines together ... the only answer I can give them is that they are both excellent salukis with forms that compliment each other, and function to ensure they can do what they are bred for! This is a complete outcross from each other as well as from my western line. Sometimes you just gotta do something different!

We have great expectations for this litter! Not only is it our first part desert bred litter, but our first dabble in breeding smooths! Given the hurdles we've faced in producing this litter, we decided to name them all after comic book SUPERHEROES!
